AquaMarine Diving Bali seeks an outgoing, computer-literate and conscientious female with managerial experience to start with us in February 2007. E-mailing clients and computer-work make up most of the job and, although it is not a difficult job, it is a responsible position, can be a heavy workload and requires great attention to detail. English must be your first language; you must be able to type very well and like dogs.

A frilled shark, which usually remains thousands of feet below the ocean's surface, was photographed recently during an unusual, and short-lived, appearance in shallow water. Spotted on January 21, this 5.3-foot (160-centimeter) shark was transferred to the marine park, where it was placed in a seawater pool. However, it died hours after it was caught.

The Squat Lobster, Galathea strigosa, likes to hide in crevices, sometimes clinging upside down to the ceiling. You see it most commonly at night. Live reef fish like grouper -- a status symbol for many newly rich Chinese -- has caused the populations of these predators to plummet around Asia as fishermen increasingly resort to cyanide and dynamite to bring in the valuable catch. Entire reef ecosystems, already endangered by pollution and global warming, are at risk.
A study about the trade in Malaysia found that catches of some grouper species and the endangered Napoleon wrasse fell by as much as 99 percent between 1995 to 2003, a period coinciding with soaring economic growth in countries where the exotic fish are a delicacy.

The British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC) are now including Nitrox training at a basic level within their Open Ocean and Sports Diver courses. These are the first two courses offered by BSAC. (Open Ocean is equivalent to PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver).
BSAC aims to enable more and more divers to be able to use nitrox on all dives to enhance diver safety.
Divers who hold qualifications prior to the 2007 diver training syllabus but not holding a Nitrox certification, will be able to receive this training by attendance on The Nitrox Diver Workshop.
